We’ve seen the whole circle of life in the Buccleuch family this week.

The week began with rejoicing on Monday as we celebrated with Roddy and Christine who became grandparents for the third time. Baby Harris made an appearance in the early hours of the morning. As it says in Proverbs 17:6 “Grandchildren are the crown of the elderly” although the author is at pains to stress that Roddy and Christine are very far from elderly!

On Tuesday the celebrations continued when Lindsey MacKay got married to the lovely Johnnie in St Salvator’s Chapel in St Andrews. Social media was full of posts from people watching the wedding online including photos of some very impressive wedding feasts prepared in their honour. We pray for God’s blessing on the happy couple as they begin their lives together.

As well as rejoicing there was grieving this week. On Wednesday Duirinish Free Church held the funeral service of Rory MacDonald’s sister Mabel who died suddenly last week. You can watch the funeral service on the Duirinish Facebook page and hear the encouraging message from Donnie G. Please pray for Rory and the wider family, that God would be their comfort through the grieving process. “Come to me all you who are weary and burdened and I will give you rest.” (Matt 11:28)

All these highs and lows of emotion remind us of the “One God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all” (Eph 4:6). Praise God!
