Here in Buccleuch we want to support our students and young workers during that crucial stage in life, so that they can grow together in faith, develop life-long spiritual disciplines, support each other in sharing their faith with others, and appreciate the joy of belonging to a local church. Whatever else they do, and wherever else they might go, we want there to be a lasting legacy of faith.
Alongside encouraging students and young workers to play a full part in the life of our church family, there are activities and events geared specifically for them.
We run a hospitality programme so that small groups of students can enjoy a wonderful Sunday lunch with members of the church family, so that new friendships are built (as well as appetites satisfied!). These meals are organised in advance, and the legacy facebook page is the best place to keep up with the plans.
The main meetings for legacy take place on Sunday after the evening service. Sometimes this will be learning about what God’s word says about matters of Christian faith and life, discussing together how to share our faith, or praying together for one another. Legacy also meets with our teens once a month to build connections across those age groups.
During the term there is also a reading group which meets to discuss a Christian book together over coffee and a meal.
If you want to know more about this group, please contact Cailean.
